Math 542 Mathematical Statistics (Graduate)
The focus of this course is maximum likelihood estimation and inference. This powerful, widely applicable methodology underlies the classical methods taught in introductory statistics courses- one and two-sample z-tests and linear regression, for example – and many other, more modern methods.
Prerequisite: Math 541/441 Probability Theory or equivalent, i.e., a semester-long upper-level introductory probability course, and familiarity with partial differentiation.
MATH 511 Numbers Theory – Theory of Numbers (Winter/Spring 2022)
MATH 512 Abstract Algebra (Summer 2022 & Summer 2023)
MATH 541 Theory of Probability (Fall 2022)
MATH 542 Mathematical Statistics (Winter/Spring 2023)
