Taking Mathematics Outside the Classroom (Workshop)

Teachers will learn about math trails and how they can be used to develop mathematical skills. Consideration will be given to what makes a good question, the health and safety issues involved when running a math trail, cross-curricular aspects of using math trails and how math trails can be organized and linked to the Indiana standards. Each teacher will undertake a math trail as a learner and then begin to develop his/her own trail. After lunch we will look at developing a math circus – a range of hands-on activities for developing and practicing skills and knowledge. Click Here for workshop Learning Outcomes.
